Congratulations to Chip Swartz who successfully passed the Certified Legal Manager (CLM) examination in September 2011, and has earned the designation of CLM.

Chapter members and Business Partners raised more than $2,300 in donations for the “Light the Night” Community Challenge Event for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society held on October 15, 2011. Walking in the event held in downtown Raleigh and proudly carrying the Gold Balloon signifying the team as a Bright Light Top Fundraiser were Karen Carmack, Brian Gilman and Brian's daughter, Hannah.

The Fall Social was held at 18 Seaboard on October 19, 2011 for members to meet and greet our 2011 - 2012 Business Partners.

Second Empire was the site of the Holiday breakfast on December 8, 2010 for chapter members and sponsors to enjoy good company and a opportunity to share our "All I Want for Christmas . . . " wishlist.

 

The Raleigh-Durham Chapter of ALA joined the Light the Night Walk for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as our 2010 Community Challenge Event. The two mile walk was held on Saturday, October 9 in downtown Raleigh. The Chapter raised over $3,200 to fight blood-related cancers. Some of our chapter sponsors joined our members and their families in the walk. 2010 Vendor Fair & Cocktail Reception and Sponsor Appreciation Dinner
The Raleigh-Durham Chapter of the ALA held its annual Vendor Fair & Cocktail Reception and Sponsor Appreciation Dinner on Thursday, January 28, 2010. Our sponsors set up great display booths and fun giveaways, which continue to be popular with members.

2009 Community Challenge
ALA members with additional help provided by sponsors and their families came together for a "Law Day" open house at the new Hospice of Wake County campus. The facility is slated to be opened for patients in January 2010, but ALA members provided tours for interested members of the legal community in November 2009.

 

25th Anniversary Celebration of the Raleigh Durham ALA Chapter in New Bern
The Raleigh Durham ALA Chapter celebrated its 25th anniversary on Friday evening, April 18, 2008 in New Bern which was hosted by Ward and Smith, P.A.. There were 13 chapter members and Joyce Patrick-Bai, At Large Director of District 2 that enjoyed cocktails while cruising down the Trent River in New Bern. After the cocktail cruise, a dinner was served at the Eastern Carolina Yacht Club. Conner Gwyn Schenck, PLLC hosted a breakfast on Saturday morning at the Pollock Street Deli in New Bern. Everyone enjoyed the weekend event and talking about all of the good times over the last 25 years.
